This technique, far from our practices, has forced them to develop so-called "on legs" decoys, meaning they represent the entire body of a duck. For French hunters, these new decoys allow them to enhance the banks of the pond or even the lines of waterfowl by installing the mallard decoys on legs in the water.

The advantage of the decoys on legs is that they are very easily movable with the wind. AvianX decoys use a support that allows them to move with the slightest breeze, making your setup even more attractive and natural. It is very easy to modify this support, to lengthen it, to install the mallard decoys on legs directly in your pond alongside your callers.

An indestructible decoy

Just like floating decoys, mallard decoys on legs have been designed from a brand-new manufacturing process. It all starts with the choice of mold: while manufacturers use steel molds, Fred Zink opted for a completely different technique. For AvianX decoys, the mold used is made of flexible material. This significantly increases the level of detail in the plumage. For the decoys, a semi-rigid plastic was also preferred. It allows the decoy to deform upon impact and then naturally return to its original shape.

Unparalleled realism

The use of a flexible material mold therefore increases the level of detail of a decoy. This is a considerable advance in terms of realism conferred to a decoy. Of course, Fred Zink did not stop there. The mallard decoys on legs are not simply painted on an assembly line like most decoys. This technique is too fragile for this type of material. The designers opted for a completely innovative process. The plastic, before being injected into the mold to give life to the decoy, is directly colored. Thus, apart from a few small details of the plumage, AvianX decoys are not simply painted, but the color is embedded in the plastic.
