More lifelike milouin shapes

The AvianX milouin decoys have amazed us. We had never had the opportunity to see such realistic shapes. The different poses offered are surprisingly natural. The pack of six decoys consists of 4 active shapes and a sleeping pair.

AvianX: a unique manufacturing process

Fred Zink, the creator of AvianX decoys and also the author of GHG (GreenHead Gear) shapes, wanted to develop a completely innovative manufacturing process. While all shapes used until now have a rigid plastic construction and a steel mold, the procedure is entirely different for AvianX shapes. A flexible material mold is now used, which significantly increases the level of feather detail. For the shapes, a semi-rigid plastic was preferred. Thanks to this, the decoy becomes indestructible: it deforms but does not break.

Faithful and ultra-resistant paint

For AvianX shapes, the term paint is no longer appropriate. The decoys are no longer simply painted. Fred Zink, aware of the recurring color issues on HD shapes, also innovated by applying a new technology to AvianX shapes. Now, the plastic, before being injected into the mold, is directly colored. Except for a few feather details, the shapes are no longer simply airbrushed but covered with a layer of plastic with the color embedded in it.

Perfect flotation

Another major issue with many decoys on the market is the unbearable noise of wave slapping. The AvianX team also addressed this problem and found an innovative solution. The keel of AvianX decoys has a unique billiard tail shape. Thanks to this, the weight is more distributed towards the front of the decoy than the back. In this way, the shape follows the wave movement without it slapping loudly against the plastic.

Natural poses

A duck shape can come from the best factories, but if the pose you want to give it is not natural, it will act more like a scarecrow. Fred Zink made it a point to offer an incredible variety of poses for these AvianX decoys. The milouins are no exception: two poses are offered. The pack consists of 6 shapes: 3 males (2 active and 1 sleeping) and 3 females (2 active – 1 sleeping).
